    Welcome to the second module of the Veterinary Preventive Healthcare Curriculum: vaccinations and parasites. Preventive care protocols will change over time, and might differ based on geography and patient factors. Therefore, this module has been designed to provide students the opportunity to utilize appropriate resources to make informed decisions.

    • The online portion of this module has been designed with two activities for students.

      The "Homework Activity: Vaccination Protocols" presents students with simple case scenarios to practice using the resources at their disposal. This activity does not include an answer key because we recognize that responses might differ based on your geography and local statutes. Importantly, the worksheet does include space for students to cite which resources they used to come to their decisions.

      The "Homework Activity: Social Media" allows students the opportunity to exercise their creativity to design a social media post about a preventive care topic. Sample preventive care topics are provided, though you might wish to limit their choices depending on your curriculum.  If desired, students can vote on their favorite social media posts, and a debrief of this activity can occur during class ("Social Media Show & Tell").
