Body Condition Scoring

Body condition score (BCS) is a value ascribed to a patient to evaluate body fat. Obtaining a BCS involves the visual and palpation assessment of three areas:

  1. Ribs
  2. Waist, as viewed from above
  3. Abdominal tuck
