Preventive Care: An Introduction

Speak with three (3) family members, friends, or colleagues who are not in the veterinary field about how they chose their veterinarian and what would convince them to visit their veterinarian more often. You may utilize the following sample questions as needed:

 

1. Do you have a consistent source for veterinary care? Is it a practice or is it an individual?
2. What makes you return to that practice / that individual?
3. What traits do you look for in a veterinarian?
4. What would convince you to visit the veterinarian more often?
5. When you first walk into a veterinarian’s office, what traits do you look for in the clinic/hospital?
6. What aspects of your most recent visit to the veterinarian impressed you the most? The least?
7. What is your favorite thing about your veterinarian and/or their clinic?
